SWN permitted the L SMK RA SUA; Doles 30 -22- 1W #1-Alt, S30 - 22N - 1W, Ora Field, Union Parish today.  The first alternate well is an indication that SWN now believes they have an area of focus to prove the Brown Dense economic.

According to SONRIS, the total depth has been reached and they are setting 5 1/2 casing at around 16,000ft.

I heard that DeSoto Rig #20 will move to Bayou De Loutre site when finished at Doles.  Also heard that as of last weekend DeSoto 21 still on the ground at Dean.  Drove near the North Mt. Olive field near Spearsville and new flagging up since my last trip (think surveying).  I just came from Union Parish and all of the oil field activity creates so many jobs; I sure hope SWN is successful.  Lots of people pulling for them, including me.

Doles is making preps to frac from what I was told last night.  Good luck SWN.

10\4\2012 Scout Info-9/8/12, STATUS 31, INACTIVE DRY HOLE FUT. UTIL. STATUS DATE: 9/8/12.-http://sonlite.dnr.state.la.us/sundown/cart_prod/cart_con_wellinfo2...

What does that mean?

I don't know. I was hoping someone else would have an answer.

I was hoping for some guidance from SWN at the recent energy conference.  For those looking for an optimistic reason for the Status 31 wells keep in mind that SWN can only flow these wells for short periods without a pipeline.  A pipeline to connect the wells to sales is a significant capital investment.  Until SWN makes some public statement which clarifies their BD plans look for evidence of pipeline rights-of-way leasing and construction.  SWN owns their own pipeline subsidiary and considering their investment in 500,000+ acres of leases there should be plenty of activity underway now. Those members who live in the area can always stop by the courthouse and examine the Clerk of Court's daybook.

I was in the area last week and it looks to me like they are already laying a pipeline from the BML to the Doles

Also refer back to Brown Dense Rumors discussions.  Last Thursday Jeff Boler posted a possible theory about the Dean well with the same status and that there might be tax advantages to this classification.  SWN has an upcoming webcast for the 3rd qtr stmts. on Nov. 2nd.

I read the comment on the Johnson and the Dean vertical wells but was surprised about the Doles horizontal.

That would allow testing of both wells without flow restrictions.  The BML PROP is still listed as waiting on pipeline as opposed to Status 31.  We may have to wait for the pipeline connection and then the flow tests before SWN makes any significant public comment..

Skip, please explain what a Status 31 is.   They are in full force builing the pipelines from BML and appears to be going to the Doles.  I understand they have 11 + miles of pipeline to tie in to the main line for sales.  I understand they should be producing by the end of 2012.  Feedback to Status 31 please.
