Thank you, Mark. I hope the screening out didn't cause SWN to abandon its fracking plan for the Johnson. They said earlier they were going to try various types of sand and frac at several vertical depths within the BD interval.
Odds are that SWN will clean out the well and continue frac'ing other stages with different proppant / fluid / other factor combinations.
This screen out underscores the nature of the unconventional reservoir "beast" whether it be TMS or Eagle Ford or Marcellus or any other - hetergeneity and varibility in the reservoir and associated factors are very important to recognize and adjust to in order to make these plays work (IMO).
I think it was only 3 stages, As of last night they were waiting on wire line to pull bridge plug. Then they should open well.
Technical question:
how many linear feet of wellbore does a single stage frack construct take up?
As in, if you had a lateral of 5000' or a vertical pay zone of 500', how many stages of fracks could you fit in? If it's one very 100' then it would be 50 and 5 respectively.
Got letter Saturday that SWN has notified COC that it wants public discussion on unitizing sec 21 and 16. The meeting would be on Oct. 15 in Monroe if anybody wants to discuss it.
I drove by the johnson well today and it looked as if they were putting production TBG down hole

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
