Source? I figured after the lack of info they gave in the last presentation it wasn't a great well.
After reading Steve Mueller's comment on the internet photo of the Garrett well flare, I think SWN keeps up with this site. Could you give us a little more info Mr. Mueller...please? Is it Go Big or Go Home news? Ok, my attempt at humor aside...is there an advantage for SWN keeping the 'news' to themselves if the the bopd is in the "rumor" range? The rumors on the bopd for the Robertson well were way off the mark earlier. Thanks for sharing what you heard North LA. I pray all the brown dense wells are flowing with black gold.
SWN and many other companies, Barbara. Always have, always will. However they tend to only monitor and it's rare that you find any mention in public comments that can be traced back to GHS. My wish is that Mr. Mueller takes a remedial English course. Reading the transcript of his comments is much worse then listening to the actual audio. The Garrett well should be a substantial improvement over the Roberson IP results.
If he did reply I would expect to hear " We are closer than we were but not there yet just keep on plodding along."
I am optomistic but I haven't sunk all my cash into their stock.
Skip, I think we should cut Mr. Mueller some slack on the English side. Bill Clinton was one of the few extemporaneous speakers whose words needed little editing, and Bill was a pretty boring speaker IMHO.
Your call, obed. I just have a personal peeve concerning corporate spokespersons, regardless of position, who can't manage to construct a simple, coherent sentence. Regard for the basics of proper spoken and written English seems to have fallen from public esteem even amongst those with professional degrees. It's a shame.
I agree, Skip. I'm afraid the English language as we know it is doomed. We can't even read a great deal of information without having to figure out abbreviations that really mean nothing. I'm not talking about the corporate abbreviations that, maybe if we were in the corporation, we would know. I know I'm not the best, or even close, but it's like a completely different language than what I was taught. Could be that the problem is that we're just not being taught anymore. Maybe, if and when I start to use social networking more, I can become more connected. Keep up the conversations, have a merry Christmas and a happy New Year, all.
Happy Holidays, Shanon
Can anyone explain why SWN would shut in this well for "testing" and keep it shut in for six plus months? I know they were getting more than 300 barrels per day and 1.2mcf of natural gas. Is it possible to go back in (after they learn more from other wells) and optimize it? Thanks!
I haven't heard any hard numbers, but my sources, who can see the flare every night from their homes, report that it seems to be getting brighter day by day, week by week.

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
