Wrong Merit. Merit Energy Services, now Penterra Services, is a land services company.  Merit Energy is a company specializing in direct investments in oil and gas assets

They are currently leasing in 22N/23N, 12W and are making offers at 20% royalty and $325 acre bonus.  Say they are interested in deep formations.  Seems like the royalty is not up to par with other offers there and in other plays.
