This was a press release by the Governor's office and Genesis about a month ago that has flown under the radar. I can't find anything on Genesis' web site about the expansion of the facility or the pipeline.

Genesis plans to increase the size of their terminal facility South of St. Francisville from 210,000 bbls to 410,000 bbls and construct an 18 mile 20" crude pipeline to the  Exxon Baton Rouge refinery. The pipeline will have the capacity of 350,000 bbls of crude per day. It is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

This has been kept very quite. I have property on what I assume to be the pipeline route and have not been contacted for ROW.

My question is: Where are they going to pickup 350,000 bbls of crude per day from. Is it the TMS, Austin Chalk or Wilcox? At present Genesis is trucking crude through Zachary to the Port Hudson barge facility. I'm assuming that crude is coming from the TMS. Is this infrastructure that is being developed in anticipation of production from the TMS and/or Austin Chalk? Does someone in the industry have plans and knowledge about the TMS and Austin Chalk trend that we don't have?
