SONRIS Lite is now reporting cumulative oil and gas production for the month of January, 2013, for the L SMK RA SUA unit in the Ora Field of Union Parish, which contains the BML and Doles horizontals. The figures, which appear to be total unit production from both wells, are 17,752 barrels of oil (condensate?) and 123,361 MCF of gas. Assuming this is for 31 days, this is equivalent to 573 BOPD and 3979 MCFD. The state potential tests were run for both wells on or about January 31, 2013 and showed combined production of 511 BOPD and 4353 MCFD. So it appears that daily production did not drop precipitously during the month. Of course we don't know how much choke settings were changed during the month. It will be interesting to see how the output holds up in the next few months.

This sounds wonderful !!! Thanks for the info.
ha, they'll only have to keep production like that up for two years to pay for those wells....
Has anyone seen a report on the February production on these wells?
Brenda, as of a few minutes ago, production had not been reported for February for the BML and Doles, but I would expect it to be reported soon.
Thank you Obed. When you see that it post please let me know. Have a blessed day.
I spoke with the DNR production audit and they are allowed 60 days to report.
February production, as reported by SONRIS Lite, for the BML plus Doles: 10,728 barrels oil (condensate?), or 383 BOPD; and 98,345 MCF of gas, or 3512 MCFD. The oil figures indicate a 33% decline in BOPD from January, and the gas figures indicate an 11.7% decline in MCFD from January. Let's hope the decline is hyperbolic rather than exponential.
968 boepd for two wells 90 days in
March numbers are posted Obed. No decline ,it actually ticked up a little on the gas side. The wells must have dropped significantly in April according to the numbers given at the Ist Q presentation.

I saw the March numbers, Tony, and I'm not sure how to interpret them. The MCFD went up 4.2% from Feb to March and then down 12.2% from March to April. The BCPD went down 10.4% from Feb to March and then down 28.0% from March to April. Maybe they opened up the choke a little in March. It will probably take a few more months for us to get a clearer picture of the decline rates, but the gas production seems to be holding up better than the condensate production.
In their First Quarter 2013 press release of 5/2/2013 (see link given by North LA in another thread of these BD discussions), Southwestern gave the April production from the BML and Doles wells:
BML: 152 BCPD and 1510 MCFD
Doles: 95 BCPD and 1772 MCFD
Combined BML and Doles: 247 BCPD and 3282 MCFD
We still don't know the March production figures, but the above combined figures for April represent a 35.5% decline in BCPD and a 6.55% decline in MCFD from February, or an average decline of 19.7% per month in BCPD and 3.33% per month in MCFD for this 2-month period. Comparing these numbers with the 33% decline in BCPD and 11.7% decline in MCFD from January to February, it seems that the monthly decline rate is already decreasing significantly, which is a good sign. The low decline rate in MCFD looks particularly promising, and SWN said in the webcast yesterday that they remain encouraged by the BML and Doles results.
Shale drilling and lithium extraction are seemingly distinct activities, but there is a growing connection between the two as the world moves towards cleaner energy solutions. While shale drilling primarily targets…

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
