It is time for the Mississippi site to have the discussions about Mississippi wells.

There are 5 new pending permits and petitions before the board--two by Goodrich and 3 by EnCana.

There is a South offset to the Crosby Well and a proposed a well to the SE in 2N 1E. These are in Wilkinson.

EnCana has proposed 2 wells adjacent to each other north of the Ash Wells in Amite.

There is also a proposed well in Sections 5 and 8 in 1N 4E in Amite.

The procedure so far has been to get a force integration permit--to force the landowners to lease; then not drill the wells immediately. (This is an abuse, particularly by EnCana, by which they use the force integration statute to help get the prospect leased--then they don't drill before the force integration permit expires.  They drill instead when they are good and ready.)

But, being in a unit is a hell of a good start even if it doesn't get drilled immediately--and it looks like poor ole Mississippi is getting more than its share of permits.

LOL, okay, scratch "good" and let's switch gears to "competent."

Any names come to mind?

Some guys I know in the Texas oil patch recommended an attorney to me.  When I we leased I spoke to him and he proposed a very, very good lease that the Oil Company rejected.  But we did get a couple of clauses included.  I could easily tell this guy knew the drill and was very experienced in O&G, he came out of Texas but is living and practicing in MS.

I am not comfortable posting names and numbers on any forum, but if someone can Private Message me or whatever it is on this forum I will be glad to share the contact info.  Oh, and I don't think he is a lightweight or cheap either so bear that in mind.  I could tell he was used to dealing with large deals.

You're more than welcome to PM me, I'm sure I can figure out how to find it/open it.

Saw Encana had surveyors out before daylight this morning surveying location in T1NR1ES41.

what location is that, in plain English?

This appears to be off of Whitaker Road and is not at a currently permitted site...I don't think.

That is one of two pending Petitions at the Oil & Gas Board for 2000 acre +/- Units in 1N-1E.

Each consists of three sections--one of Sections 31,41 & 46 (Broadview) and the other of Sections 33, 34,40 and 47 (Wellborn).  There are some irregular sections in there, but both are basically three 640 acre sections--clean rectangles side by side.

Don't expect EnCana to drill either any time soon, though it could happen. This first Petition is likely just to force landowners who haven't leased--to lease to EnCana on EnCana's terms.

Does anyone know of a site in Wilkinson/Amite area with more than two wells?

Good question!

Drilled?  No.

There are a few with plans for more than two, but only two sites with two wells actually drilled on them that I know...Ash and Anderson 17-2 and 17-3 sites.

And there is the Weyerhaeuser 60H in St. Helena Parish with two on it.

MSOGB October docket is out now, just checking it over to see if there is anything interesting on it.

We just received an offer of $3k @ acre for our property leased to Encana, from Lucy Land. The first offer months ago was $1000. I just received news from other family members that are also leased by Encana, they have filed for a unit comprised of 1946 acres, that some of our acreage is included in. Hopefully, this may mean a good 2014, as far as drilling activity by Encana. We are close to 2 years into our lease.
