MANY SOUTHWESTERN, CABOT, EMPRESSA, ETC  LEASES , & ARE RAPIDLY APPROACHING THE EXPIRATION OF PRIMARY LEASE & THE LESSORS HOLD AN OPTION TO EXTEND LEASE.  WHAT ARE THOUGHTS AS TO WHAT COMPANIES WILL DO?

Southwestern renewed the lease on land we own at Weldon.  They indicated they would renew all their leases in Union Parish.

had our minerals leased to clark energy, and it expired in December in union parish.  signed a lease with swn in February for the same land.  hope union parish is the hot spot, or at least a spot.

robert, generally speaking were the SWN lease terms better or lesser than your Clark lease?  And since we are trying to identify the area where renewals are being exercised, or new leases taken, would you be willing to share your location by section-township-range?  Thanks for  responding.

Received lease renewal 8/4/2014 for another 4 years from Southwestern for land I own Sec 6  T 20N R 1E & Sec 31 T 21N R 1E for another 4 years.

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
