Section 27 Township 19N Range 2W Anything going on

I've got some property in Section 27 Township 19N Range 2W.  Devon Energy did all that seismic testing a few years ago but never heard any results.  Just wondering if there's nothing under the ground or if its just not the right time to drill there.  Thanks for any info.

You won't be hearing any seismic results because that is proprietary information.  You can infer that the seismic did provide enough positive data for Linn Energy to acquire all of Devon's development rights in this general area.  The CV group looks to be reasonably prospective from the existing wells in the proximity of Section 27 but Linn, like so many other E&P companies, is teetering on the edge of bankruptcy.  If they do go into bankruptcy it will be interesting, and informative, to see what interest other operators may have in acquiring their rights.  The only active operating company in the area is Memorial Resource Development and they have outstanding results from their CV wells to the west in 19N - 4W & 3W.  Section 27 is 5 or 6 miles further east of current development and the CV sands in this area are a conventional reservoir so it's difficult to extrapolate whether your area will have the same petrophysical characteristics as their Terryville Complex rock.  It will take better prices in the future to incentivize further exploration in your area.

Tuscaloosa Trend Sits On Top Of Poorest Neighbourhood For Decades - Yet No Royalties Ever Paid To The Community -- Why??

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.

This area has suffered immense environmental degradation…
