Skip, I as well as some others over here will enjoy that link to the channel 3 story, as the satellite provider doesn't give access to the Shreveport market for local channels. It goes for the Monroe market...BKG
It may be in the morning before the video is on the KTBS website. I just watched the report of the KPXJ 9:00 news and thought the producer and reporter did a good job. I'll post the link as soon as I can find it.
Thanks for the link. This was an interesting report....BKG
You're welcome. I'm glad you found it worth your time.
Skip, do you know what brokers are working on this for Range?
There is nothing in the public record as yet to indicate what land company or companies will be representing Range. Since MRD just recently acquired a new large acreage position in Lincoln and Jackson parishes from WRM and some investors, I doubt that Range is making any lease offers at this time. That newly acquired acreage will definitely need to be augmented by some amount of additional leasing but I don't expect to see that until Range has finalized their drilling program. Right now there are only two Jackson Parish step out wells, one TD'd and the other drilling. The 2016 MRD wells drilled to date, excepting those two step outs, are in the core of the Terryville Complex which is 99+% HBP. There has been a lull in unit applications associated with the change of operator but when Range begins making applications we should get an idea where they will be drilling in the future.
Thanks Skip! I just found a Lincoln sign on and was looking only to be disappointed. I hadn't thought about the fact that most of it will be HBP. I didn't realize that Richard Ieyoub had been appointed to DNR head earlier this year though, so that's interesting. Hopefully work will pick up soon!
Yes, Mr. Ieyoub's appointment was somewhat of a surprise but not nearly as much as his boss, the head of DNR. Check out his background.
Dedicated to the environment...interesting. It will be interesting to see, when drilling really picks up again, how they are going to handle both the desire to protect the environment and the very real need to bring income back into the state by not making the business of drilling too cumbersome.
Shale drilling and lithium extraction are seemingly distinct activities, but there is a growing connection between the two as the world moves towards cleaner energy solutions. While shale drilling primarily targets…

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
