Can someone help me out? Is the Texas Bossier Shale the same as the Haynesville Shale? Looking at some of the graphs on here it looks to me like the Bossier shale is around 1000 feet thick. Ive heard 250-300 feet thick is about the max of the Texas Haynesville Shale. Is the Haynesville the Lowest 250-300 feet of the bossier Shale? Thanks for any answers

ETH, in Louisiana the Bossier Shale is directly above the Haynesville Shale. In Texas, the whole interval of the the Bossier Shale & Haynesville Shale is referred to as the "Bossier Shale" with the Haynesville Shale being the lower porttion of the "Bossier Shale". Also, generally the references to the Haynesville Shale being 250' thick are to "net" thickness of gas pay. The gross interval could be thicker.

Slide 14 of Comstock's latest presentation (see link) shows the Bossier & Haynesville Shale.

ETH, this is beyond my expertise but generally it appears the Bossier/Haynesville Shale in Harrison County is at about 11,000' to 11,500' deep.
