Petrohawk has been recently expressed interest (again) and offered $500 per acre and 25%. How wise is it to sell 75% for $500 per acre? I know the well would have to pay out before I would get a dime, but are the gas compaies so dishonest as to cook the books? Has anybody out there been a hold out and retained all their mineral rights where a "good" well was made? I have 1 acre in 191536.

The only way to get more is to not sign for less. Many don't have the discipline to let this be the principle which guides their decision to lease.

Tuscaloosa Trend Sits On Top Of Poorest Neighbourhood For Decades - Yet No Royalties Ever Paid To The Community -- Why??

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
