Thought it might be good to post any results on wells being drilled in the county. I know a good well was hit around Denning.

This is the latest one I know of from the East Texas Drilling Report:
Timberstar-Hodges GU 1 Well 1H is 15.53 miles northwest of San Augustine in Martinsville Southeast Field. This well was drilled to 11,617 feet by Southwestern. The well was gauged on open choke and potentialed 4.237 million cubic feet of natural gas. Production is in James.

Does anyone have any news on the Cowboys well drilled in the JJ Hennis Survey by Fossil Resources? It was permitted in Sept. 08. It should be in production by now.
I just copied this from the 02/01/09 Drilling report, since many of my family holdings (leases) are all around these wells, they caught my attention. I know that the wells will be choked down, but are these as good as they sound, especially the Southern Timber Properties 2H well... 7.958 million cf of gas?!?!???!????
Some of our largest San Augustine holdings are just West and Southwest of these wells. To top everything else, we have been approached again to lease additional rights further West (but in line with the chain of wells permitted and drilled). We have already leased some more land on the San Augustine/Nacogdoches county line last month and have been contacted about our other Nacogdoches, San Augustine and Shelby county lands.
From what I get from this, we (all of us) could be looking at something really good (and big) here, is that correct or am I not understanding all of this?

San Augustine County

Cabot Oil & Gas completed the Katherine von Goetz Well 2 to 12,340 feet, seven miles west of San Augustine in Angie Field. It potentialed 1.750 million cf of gas on a 64/64-inch choke. Production is in James Lime.

Cabot Oil & Gas completed Southern Timber Properties Well 2H to 14,240 feet 5.49 miles northwest of San Augustine in Angie Field. On adjustable choke it potentialed 7.958 million cf of gas in James Lime.
Bill R. , you are exactly right.
COOOOOL!
Thank you..Knowing that will make me smile even bigger!
More good news...We (my family) are finally seeing some small royalty checks from the Rusk and West Shelby county holdings... With the way the family estate is divided, it will take quite a few more wells before I will be able to consider myself, "in the money" as my share is one third of one sixtenth of the one quarter (trickle down effect), but at least we started seeing a few dollars and that will keep me in fishing lures for awhile and maybe another lodge trip up to Alaska!
