add two 0's and make it 1/32
my first impression was :
they wanted to buy 1/8th of 25% for $3000.

but after re-reading the letter;
they want 1/8th royalty ....which is half of 25% of royalty .

they are trying to catch people in financial turmoil and any lifeline of $$ would be a welcomed sight.
Some people may need the money now. You have to consider what could be gained if you had the money now and invested it, could you have a higher return over time?...Maybe....especially if you are years away from having a productive well or are on the fringe of the HA play.

...And by selling only half of your royalty (assuming you have a lease with a 1/4 royalty), you could have your cake and eat it too.

If you where interested though, I would take this offer as the starting point for negotiations.
I've got all the acreage your heart could desire if you're buying at $30,000/acre
Mineral owners like you are the reasons for CHK needing a buyer
You mean a couple shaleheads like them could put CHK on the ropes?
Mr. Bruce, that is an absolutely ridiculous statement - CHK's ability to survive is in no way a function of "hold out" mineral owners.
Look around and see who is worth hundreds of millions or billions, it sure as hell isn't us Bruce. The companies that are in the natural resource business have a legal license to steel from land owners and do so by taking advantage of their ignorance howerver it may manifiest it's self. We have land in the old cotton valley oil and gas field that has been HBP since the 20's. It tangles in heirship and the land is basically usless. We have trees on it, but 15 acres of 120 is in pipeline and we cannot manage the timber as we should because of the threat of fire from aging pipelines. The more money that is amassed means more losers and I for one take offence to be called greedy in the same text with multi-billion dollar corporations!
poor baby.
Sorry to make you feel empathetic baron, not crying, don't have to, just stating a fact that can't be discredited and dismissed about what will most likely happen to some peoples property. That is if the above post was directed toward me.
