Wells by Permit Date also is on the list.

Carrie, please do the Well Permit By Date search next.

Thanks, Carrie.  It is hard to adjust to.  The old searches were better in some ways especially the Wells by STR where I could easily scroll through each section in the township.  That is an important ability in the age of horizontal wells.

We miss the old queries too, Skip. We are all adjusting.

I'm trying Carrie.  I have to master the new searches in order to answer questions and help members manage their mineral interests.  That's what GHS.com has done for seventeen, soon eighteen years.

Hi Carrie,

Thanks for helping us transition.  Is there a method or trick to search all field orders associated with a particular well SN that was located in the "well information search" report tab without having to back out and go to field orders?  Thanks

Hi Bes,

Thank you for your kindness and patience. The Field Orders are a child record labelled "Black Books" in links of the Field ID. In Well Profile, the Field ID brings users straight to the Blackbooks. I'll add that to the tutorial list.

The old reports were easy and bookmarked and accessible on my phone. This is way too complicated

Hi Carrie, I had a question on APEX NATURAL GAS wells. Sonris shows 87 permits so far in 2025 but only 5 are marked as 'Active Producing'. The last wells to turn to sales were in July. Are they really not turning wells to sales after drilling and completing so much or is this some reporting lag?

Hi Debbie! There is a minor reporting lag. The Scout reports provide some reference of when new wells are brought on production prior to the completion paperwork being processed. Scout reports are collected weekly while a well is in the drilling phase.

Thank you so much Carrie. So those Apex wells are probably online already

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near…
