An acre is 43,560 square feet or a square 208.71 feet by 208.71 if you can square it up using right triangles and squares or rectangles would be best. Area for a right triangle is base x height x 1/2 in and square or rectangle length x width in units of a foot this yield square feet then divide by 43,560 to convert to an acre.
thanks
now........what do you get for an answer ?
Using average end area, I came up with this. 146+127/2 = 136.5 ft, then 121+39/2=80 ft. Total square feet = 136.5x80= 10,920 sq. feet. Divide 10,920 by the number of sq. ft. in an acre 43,560 and you get 0.2507 AC
average end area would probably be 146+121/2 and 127+39/2 . Then multiply 133.5 times 83. Total sq.ft. would be 11,080.5. Divide that by the number of sq. ft in an acre 43,560 . You get 0.2544 AC
thanks for the math lessons, the main reason I asked:
I hear that some lots are not 1/4 acres,but 1/5 acres.

thats a $1,000 difference on a offer of $20,000 per acre.
And don't forget to add to your measurements the distance to the center of the road if you have any road frontage. Most roads are on right of ways and property owner claims the mineral rights.
I was told in another thread - the land Caddo just leased for $30,000 was mostly right of ways and we don't get the mineral rights. Which brings me to a question: If we don't figure our acreage properly, does the oil and gas company check it?
That's what us landmen are paid to do, and we will generally use our number unless you can prove that ours is wrong. In which case we will use yours and correct ours.

I know my footage, but not sure about converting it to acreage;
