2009 looks to be a promising year for the Haynesville shale.

Encana, a Canadian natural gas company, have already drilled wells into the shale.

Jeff Wojahn, director of U.S. operations, says none of the wells are record breakers, but they are producing sizable amounts of natural gas.

"They're strong wells. We have had good results that have been equivalent to results published by the industry," said Wojahn.

Those results have encouraged Encana to plan on drilling five more wells over the next year, into the Haynesville shale and another formation called the Deep Bossier.

Chesapeake Energy, one of the early players in the shale, is also looking to expand in 2009. "We're currently operating 20 rigs a today. We expect to end the year with 35 rigs operational in this 3.5 million acre acrea," said Kevin McCotter, company spokesman.

Another big player, Petrohawk, also has plans to add at least a dozen more rigs.

Don Briggs, president of the Louisiana Oil and Gas Association, says there is almost 100 rigs working in north Louisiana.

Many of those rigs were moved from the Barnett shale in Fort Worth and the Marcellus shale in West Virginia and Pennsylvania.

Very good Sesport. You are definitely on the right track!!!!
Cathaus,

All I know is that you give "treats" to the "good" wolves of all of those around you by all of the joy you share.
Parker, you have just become my new BEST friend. I find that it is so much easier to get along than it is to fuss and fight. Fueding consumes too much of my time and energy. Success is not measured by money, it is measured in happiness and joy. If I can give one person a reason to smile, then it has been a successful day indeed!
:0) :0) :0) :0) , etc. LOL
You always make me smile, as I'm sure that you do anyone around you.

You are a true jewel of GHS.

Love ya,
Parker
Parker,
If I am a jewel, then you are the crown of GHS!
Nah. My hero is KB.

True royalty (pun intended).
I guess that makes me the family jewel of the GHS.
Aahhh, the lovely and talented KB. How are you doing?. Good, I'm glad to hear it. I just thought it was a good time to point out the fact that a lot of politicians lately who have been swearing on the bible haven't been telling the truth either. I thought it was a great topic you and GD were discussing so I thought I would throw my $13 dollars in. I feel that just because a hypocrite might not be a Christian, that it somehow lessons the magnitude of their hypocrisy. To say it's not as bad to be hypocritical because your not a Christian is making one's self feel better for their own hypocrisy. To put a man in charge of the IRS who didn't pay his taxes for four years, IMHO would be the height of hypocrisy would it not. You and GD like using Christians and other religions as examples, I like using politicians. Having said all of that. I'm not a Christian, (Big Gasp) although people are still working on me. You either have character or your don't whether your black, white christian or atheist.
Character is what you have when no one is watching. No person of any religion or non-religion has cornered the market on ethics, morals, character, taste nor common sense. Not gonna happen in this lifetime. Christians are held to a higher standard so when we fail, we will be called out more often then the non-Christians because there will always be someone watching and reporting! Hipocracy comes in all form and fashion, colors, and shapes. We can say the same for character.
You, dear Dorcheated, have character. In fact, you are quite a character!
Mrs. C - You are a true Strega Nona, and a character in your own right. Hmmm ... Strega Cathaus ... is parker in the mood for some folktale writing? :0)

The Lithium Connection to Shale Drilling

Shale drilling and lithium extraction are seemingly distinct activities, but there is a growing connection between the two as the world moves towards cleaner energy solutions. While shale drilling primarily targets…
