Nah, the Supreme Court settled that one a few weeks ago in DC vs. Heller. One of the few cases that they got "right" in this year's session.

On the other hand, we're likely to have higher oil and nat gas prices if Obama and the Dems are in power. The dems like higher energy prices. Obama even said he's ok with $4+ gas, he just didn't like that the price got there as fast as it did. Obama and the dems will continue to prevent offshore drilling, drilling in ANWR, shale development in the Rocky Mountains, etc. All that should make our Haynesville gas more valuable.

If idiots in Congress like Maxine Waters had their way, the oil and gas industries would be nationalized and we might even lose lease payments then if companies like Chesepeake were forced out of America.

Yeah, they'd nationalize the oil industry, and then landmen wouldn't negotiate lease terms with you, the government bureaucrats that will be put in their places will tell you the lease terms.

I'm not sure the dems want higher gas prices as the first groups to feel the bite are the dems core members. As we all know disrupting Iraq's oil supply combined with a higher than projected Chinese demand all piled onto Bush's "low-dollar" policy is why the prices are so high now. We also know that both Bush and Cheney personally profit from the increase (thats why neither makes many speeches on the subject). Cheney is on record as stating high energy prices are good ("Let us end the myth that low energy prices are good for America" is the exact quote when debating energy tariffs). Taken along with the dems campaign vows to lower gas prices I would argue the opposite is true.

He wants gas stations around the country to start selling natural gas."That would, then, allow the auto industry to start producing cars that are cleaner, more energy efficient," said Congressman Rahm Emanuel.
He says he's not sure how long it would take to make natural gas a viable alternative to gasoline, but claims that Senator Barack Obama told him he is interested in the plan

Can you trust a guy named Rahm? Do you think he is Barack's little brother???? Just wondering. I am getting more and more leery of men in the political scene with middle eastern sounding names. What ever happened to good ole names like John and Bill and George? Uh Oh, never mind!

This has absolutely nothing to do with the person's name! This is about a the huge battle between capitalism and socialism that is taking place in this country right now. Socialism and communism will NEVER work well as long as humans are greedy, which will always be the case. The perfect "laboratory" experiment demonstrating this was the economic development of West vs. East Germany during the Cold War. Socialism has been thoroughly disproven as an effective economic form of government. The problem now is that there are so many uneducated and lazy people in the American electorate that we find ourselves drifting towards socialism more and more every day.

Ha ha! There is a comedian on TV who said that Barack's name is like "Charles Manson Hitler".....who are you going to trust for political office...."Charles Manson Hitler!"

That's hilarious! I might be wrong about the spelling of his name but isn't it something like Barack Hussaine Obama???? It reminds me of Charles Manson Hitler. It combines some of the worst people's names in history.

I know you shouldn't judge a person by their name, but I cannot get past the idea of what his name represents in history. Doesn't history ususally repeat itself??
