I wish JE were in charge of exploration at Devon, Cabot, St Mary, or Endeavor right now. For selfish reasons of course ; ) .

Being alive and well should mean more than just being able to post messages on an internet forum. How many acres do they own or have leased? How many wells drilled? Credentials? The only reason the questions are asked is because they have stirred so much up that they should be willing to step forward and prove it up. Nobody has to do that but most posters who make predictions like they have are usually willing to provide some support for their positions if legit.

Don't wait up....and I don't think they will be leaving a light on for ya.

Here is one from recently: MIddle Bossier Shale Play in Sabine and San Augustine Counties of Texas
Encana has made a strong statement that the Middle Bossier Shale could rival the Haynesville Shale as to natural gas production. It appears they think that it is present in Sabine and San Augustine counties of Texas as well as in the southern part of Louisiana due to their recent leasing activities. These two counties have stacked pay zones that are very prolific

And another: Encana Leasing Minerals in Southern Haynesville Shale in Texas
Encana has leased several thousand acres in Sabine and San Augustine counties in Texas. EOG, Cabot and Devon have also leased in these counties too .The two counties will continue to be very active as to leasing minerals in 2009 and beyond.Maybe Encana will drill the first well to prove up the Haynesville and Bossier Shale in Sabine County. A well drilled in a North -South direction with a 4,500 feet laterals in opposing directions in each zone mentioned should produce in excess of 50 mmcf/day.

That's a pretty interesting POV. I'm more inclined to believe that the southern parts of San Augustine, Sabine and Sabine Parish may be included in the acreage that Encana is trying to farm out. Any thoughts?

According to the everchanging blob maps out there that would seem to be the case. they did cut the farmout acreage from 139k to 30k though so who knows. What do you think the stacked pay zones are in these counties that will be produced? I also was hoping to get your thoughts on the target of Nacogdoches wells just permitted to 17000' and 18500'. They must not be having the same temp and pressure issues over there that they had in Sabine Parish, LA. Seems very deep though. Also, I know that a specific area of Louisiana has been the focus of drilling and the numbers have been great on many of them but don't you think that the cost of these leases has something to do with the amount of activity over there vs. TX? I would rather HBP a lease at 20-25k/acre and renew the lease at 5-6K and get to that later. Does this have any impact or am I just trying to justify the lack of TX activity to date?
