I have 6 acres in North Natchitoches parish and have been contacted by EnCana to lease. They're offer was $2000 an acre 1/5 royalties on a 3 years lease no release option. I have been holding out to see what other offers I get so far none. Parents are in Red River parish 1/2 mile from me and got signed with PetroHawk for $3800 an acre for 4 years and 1/4 royalties. So I am still waiting.... Wish to here anything anyone else has been offered in this area or has signed leases.

I just found it: T11N - R8W - Sec.16

I just read a post the Messenger Well hit. Any truth to this and what does that mean for the area above?

Thank you.
buckstar, where did you read that?
In a subtopic of North Natchitoches Network.
thanks, just found it as well. Could be great news it it's true!!
I found this on Topix on the Messenger well thread and was wonder if anyone else has heard this. Any information on this would be appreciated.

"Supposedly, a well drilled close to Pleasant Hill is going to be one of the top producing natural gas wells in the country. Cheasapeake employee told me that they are doing their 3D seismic shoot in south Natch. Parish and Grant Parish, also Rapides. It is now thought that the shale extends into those areas which would bring in the entire parish of Natchitoches. Rumor also has it that EnCana might drill a well down in south Natchitoches Parish close to Cane River. This might be great news for everyone who owns property in the Parish and would greatly enhance our economy! "
Gizbeau ~ I replied to one of your comments on the Natchitoches Parish Network a few minutes ago ~ have you seen it?
I am new to this site, and have no knowledge of this topic. I would however like to know if anyone knows if there has been testing done or if anyone close to the area about 5 miles south of the Messenger Well been done? I hear of discussions of North Natchitoches parish, Robeline, Golddonna, Martin, and other places but really nothing about the land around I-49 and Posey Rd. toward Johnson Chute or toward Old Bethel Rd. There is alot of acerage in that area, anyone have any knowledge concerning this area???
Sam,
FYI, there has been "some" land leased on Posey Rd (w. I-49) a couple of years ago for $100 - $150. The closest big money is north in the Ajax area. I heard 10 grand (cannot confirm). I've heard tons of rumors and good stories. Other than that, nobody tells me nothing.
I've been waiting for some good news about this area also. I'm located off of Johnson Chute Road, on Sisson Road.
Sorry. I'm new to this and live in Baton Rouge. I'm trying to get some information on my property in Elm Grove. I think I am in Township 16N-Range 11W. It is in the Big Springs Subdivision off of Robinson Road. I am not sure of any other descriptions. Where would I go to get a physical description of the property? It is not listed on the deeds.
Can anyone tell me anything about activity in that area?
I need a contact person who wouldn't mind answering some basic questions for me.

you can get a description of the land at the clerk of court's office or the tax assessors office in Bossier Parish. You can also go to sonris and type in the section, township and range to check and see if anything has been drilled in your section. I believe there are directions for Sonris on the front page of this website.
