Diamond Oil has drilled 3 and permitted 3 more HA wells in this field. All are vertical so they probably aren't big producers. These wells are in the 8000+ ft. range. I guess the same reason the oil is so shallow there would be why the HA zone is shallow too? Does anyone have an idea how thick the shale maybe or how good it is? Diamond has not released anything to the dnr or at least it's not on sonris yet? Do they not have the expertise or the capital to do a horizontal or are they just trying to hbp till the big boys want it?

Its called HBPing leases.

HK has formed a unit nearby, if it works out the deep rights will be worth it.
If this is so then why not drill around Oil City.? They are many shallow chalk wells up there
already HBP around oil city. Also, I have heard that the rock may be better around bellvue.
Is the HK unit in Webster or Bossier?
Bossier

Diamond Oil, Lodwick 25 #1 Well, Serial #238913, S25-T20N-R11W
Thanks Les
What is the reason the zone is more shallow?
Diamond has experience in horizonal drilling and plans to drill all wells horizonal once leases are held. The shale in this area is 300 feet with good pressures. They are currently laying a pipeline to the wells. Endeaver out of Midland is currently setting up units in sections 23,24,26,27 twn 19n r 11w. They must be on to something. I think Diamond and Endeaver are sharing information. Petrohawks unit will be in section 28. I have logs on the oxy 11 and lodwick 35. The above info is incorrect in that the oxy 11 has been drilled and the forcap 2 has not been drilled. I own 320 acres in the area so I have been keeping up with development. The zones are shallower because all zones were pushed up by a salt dome that formed the Bellevue oilfield. The Nacatoch sand in the area is only 350 feet deep.
Thanks wlt, this is great news for that area! Is there new leasing activity going own if so what kind of terms are being offered?
