I live in blanchard area, bought property 3 years ago, didn't include mineral rights. Landman from twin city began calling wanting to lease, which I informed him of this and he informed me he knew, but I would get them back April, 09. Lawyer researched this and comfirmed. My question/concern is: What is the probability a deal could be put togather between leasee's/o&g co. in my section and hole punched to disturb mineral rights by april 09. Thanks for reply

There's a lot of variables in that equation your talking about.
What kind of drilling the operator does.
How much leasehold they have.
If said company is currently working on putting together a pad site.
Size of acreage involved.
etc.

Without a lot more information one wouldn't even be able to make an educated guess, and thats all anything would be, a guess.

I used to think people never let leases/mineral rights expire but I know different now. Keep your fingers crossed!
STAN, I have been using that phase, "Hurry up and Wait" and everyone would laugh. That is exactly how I feel about all of this. Presently, I am TIRED of the "hurry" and the "wait", so if I were not so determined I would give up with this glut and the $3.36 gas price I saw last week. I am losing hope; perhaps, this election will help. If my side does not win, I am giving up on NG and seeking other creative means to come out better. We shall be at that point, to me, beyond "Hurry up and Wait". They were talking about a hurricane that might hit off shore wellS, but I do not like to see others suffer to improve another situation.
Also, I wonder if the LPG way of fracing will save money as they will not have to purchase and transport so much water. It seems that the wells will have to produce so much to pay for themselves that they may need to SHUT DOWN "SHOP" FOR AWHILE. hOPE YOU GET YOUR MINERALS BACK; THAT IS WORTH HURRY UP AND WAIT PHASE. i WOULD BE QUIET ABOUT IT AS OTHERS MIGHT START TRYING TO GET IT DRILLE SH !!! SH!!!! PRAY!!!!sh
