If you have land around the Olympia, did you get your letter today?

We got a letter today that indicates that Shell is getting ready to drill 25 wells in 25 sections around the Olympia. How long does it take to get the permits and then get the drilling started?

This is encouraging to me and makes me thankful I leased in May. Maybe leasing will pick back up in Sabine, since the Olympia was obviously a good well.

Steve, from the looks of the map that I was sent, you may be force pooled, because "Section 18, Township 9 N, Range 11W" is highlighted on my map as a site for one of the 25 wells. You should receive a letter. The letter states that a meeting will be held if requested by "Interested Owner or Represented Party receiving a copy of this notice within ten (10) calendar days after the date hereof."
Is section 8 township 8 range 11 on the map? Thanks for the info.
They are not going to force pool someone with 80 acres without contacting them first. As I have said before on this site, "I don't like the term Forced Pooled". The work for the abstractors is overwhelming, you can't get around in the Sabine Parish Courthouse. They will contact Steve and make a deal when the drilling gets close to him. The cos doing the leasing are throwing hard stuff to the side and concentrating on the easy stuff. Sit back Steve and wait for them to contact you, believe me the price goes up each day and you may get a better deal by waiting. If this would have been an easy tract you may have been in the same boat as others in that neck of the woods, $125 for a 5 year lease and 3/16 royalty, thank your lucky stars that your tract had title problems and wait for the bigger money that is sure to come.
For those who asked, I am listing the SRT's that I have on the map I was sent. I could have made a mistake, so don't take this as gospel. If you have a question, ask and I will double check.

R 11 W, T 9 N - Sections 17, 18, 20, 29

R 12 W, T 9 N - Sections 13, 14, 15, 16, 31, 32

R 12 W, T 8 N - Sections 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 17, 18

R 13 W, T 9 N - Sections 35, 36

R 13 W, T 8 N - Sections 1, 2

That is all 25.
Thanks! I appreciate it.
What about R 11W, T 10 N - Section 21???
Thanks to all who replyed to this. Does anyone have the sections that were unitized around the Murray 31 well. I'm trying to figure out how much of T9N 11W is now unitized. Thanks.
where in sabine parish is the olympia. thanks mac
Olympia is in R 12 W, T 9 N, Section 23! You're welcome!
Have scanned and posted the proposed unitized section maps we received in the mail on Aug 20 on the photos page. It also has dotted lines around the sections that were unitized in November of 07
This is great news for Sabine Parish. The Olympia Minerals well must be a good one! Thanks Dixie.
You can hear anything you want about Olympia #1. I've heard they will come back and do a horizontal drill on it. I DO know that it was flared for 3 days and nights - what a roar and what a lit up sky! Soooooo I am prone to believe it made a good showing or they would not be planning to drill in these 25 sections around Olympia.
