I have the same question Caroline asked................if the shale is 100 ft. thick--is that great, average, OK? How thick is it in South Caddo, for example, where it's supposed to be fabulous?

God Bless
im sorry, just my opinion, but the pic of the supposedly messenger well at night. (i think from vic). That is not messenger well.

also, encana will not be releasing in data w/in the week. they will hold this data for as long as possible. its a guess, but i would bet we will not find out for months about messenger well.

again, my opinion.
good to know your opinion it helps us all...i just read on the site where someone said they would post this week at some point..who knows..right?

Hey Natch N3--
should we be jumping up and down if this is a vertical well and not a horizontal? Seems like we don't really know for sure at this point. I'm just wondering if it's a vertical well, if it will have as big an impact in central/southern Natchitoches Parish as it would if it were horizontal?? IF they're fracing it now, does that it mean it can't go horizontal?
If messenger is a real good well as it stands, vertical, I would for sure say the next well close by will be horz. If it could be taken horz. they would have to get a new permit not to mention the added cost of doing so. Why not let a good well ( the original Messneger ) alone. Get your next permit horz. There is plenty of room out there, just keep drilling boys. Amen.
Just a thought, thanks.

good answer to carolines question and I would think a HZ well is always better production wise.

We need to all just stop and think for a minute. Nobody is sure what this well is yet. In reference to , Is it actually in the Haynesville Shale. If it is Haynesville Shale and its's vertical, (and its vertical for sure-it is a definite well) then Natchitoches parish has just had a great impact to it's economy and the people that live here. I am almost certain that is is in the Haynesville Shale, and that would even be greater news. That is what we need the most.
I will hold to my rabbit's foot and pray at the same time.
OK, thanks Lrb2brnot2b, that helps me understand...Just trying to understand all the vertical, horizontal, frac, etc etc.

I know a vertical well is wonderful but a horizontal is fabulously wonderful and what we're all hoping for...

thanks so much!

The photo of the Messenger well that was posted and then removed, is the flare of the Messenger well, that is the fence off I-49 and I have the same photo taken maybe later in the day, that positively is the field looking from I-49 , I grew up in the area and pass it 6 times or so in a week, who knows now? Could be good for south of the area as some others have posted. Don't get too greedy in your bonus money, work on getting good royalties and the bonus check will fall into place.
If the do the same MO as the other two wells they will put it off as long as they can.
Bigball,
Are you pretty sure the pic is not the Messenger? I agree with what you say about the Messenger info. But I don't know about you, but I am sick and tired of people posting misinformation on this site. Especially when it is deliberate. I wish Haynesville would remove people for any further "trick playing". I for one do not see any humor in it.
