Good Morning, I wanted to know how would I find out if there is oil on my property. The Haynesville Shale is not far from my home.
Eric - this is the same as I received for my acreage in Union parish bordering Claiborne. Do you mind sharing who the offer is from?
I own 40 acres in Claiborne, LA Sec.16, T19N,Range 5W Any interest in leasing?
Well, a few years have past since I last posted and now AIX has approached all heirs of the property in Oaks Field and we have an offer of $300 per acre with 25% interest, not a bad offer, I hope. It seems everything was very quiet and depressing concerning Claiborne Parish but now something is going on. I have heard of this "brown dense" but I refuse to let myself get excited again about oil and gas since the Haynesville Shale story. I live in a great section in South Caddo near Desoto Parish. We had a very good gas well that has declined very fast just as the price of gas has done. I am hoping Claiborne Parish will be the real deal as far as oil goes since the price of oil seems to remain stable and quite high. I hope to find out more in the near future just what AIX is planning to do and if this is going to be another disappointment. General Motors finally closed so I am retired at a pretty young age and any extra income will be a great boost. Hopefully someone can bring me up to date on this "brown dense" and the possibilities of some good wells in my area. I hope for all of us with property in Claiborne Parish that this turns out to be what we have been waiting for. Good luck to us all and hopefully good news will soon follow.
I have finally made it back to this site because of a letter from my cousin that lives in Haynesville. It seems AIX is interested in leasing our property. We had a well in Oaks field but it hasn't produced in over 10 years. I have been reading about this "brown dense" and hopefully it will amount to something. N. gas seems to keep dropping in price and oil keeps going up. I am really hoping we can get a lease with good terms and they will find oil. I am now retired since GM has finally closed, so this news is coming at a good time. I just hope it really works out. If anyone has any news about this area, I would appreciate any information. Hello again, guys. After the leasing frenzy of two years ago, activity sorta died out along the Claiborne/Union parish line west of Bernice on Hwy 2. I own a modest tract of 53 acres in Claiborne and a half interest in 16 acres in Union. Now some leasing activity is starting up in Sec. 18, so perhaps we will see something good start to happen. Offers have been $300/acre for a four year lease and 1/5 royalty. When and if the drilling starts up again, I also just happen to have a nice supply of iron ore available with easy access to Hwy 2 for road base and drilling rig pads. A contractor from over around Minden started the quarry three or four years ago and it's still ready to go if needed.
Little Red,
Probably a new member joined this group. That shows up as "latest activity".
About 350 leases filed in Claiborne Parish by Pinebelt. Heard there are even more leases in Union Parish as well.
Shale drilling and lithium extraction are seemingly distinct activities, but there is a growing connection between the two as the world moves towards cleaner energy solutions. While shale drilling primarily targets…

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
