Haynesville Shale - Well Hall of Fame (7/15/10)

Now that the "Hall of Fame" has reached 100 wells I thought it may be a good time to update the list with the latest information. Fourteen different operators now have featured wells.

There are eight (8) parishes and counties with wells on the list with the top two being Red River (37) and DeSoto (31). Top operators are Petrohawk (28), EnCana (18), Questar (11), Exco (9), Chesapeake (8) and Comstock (7).

Texas now has three of the top four wells.

The list includes wells that had an initial rate above 20 MMcfd.

From the limited data on Sonris, it is an art, not the science that E&Ps use to control wells. We don't know volume/pressure and choke. We only know the test data on one or two days. We don't know if the well was shut in for a day or week.

For me, I will take G. Lormand 4, #239966, tested at 28+ mmcfd in Jan. and 30+ mmcfd. in April and reported by ECA with an IP of 37 mmcfd. It did 1.66 mmcf. in 98 days. Taker that Arthur Berman.

You're welcome. Several folks have informed me that the production reporting on Sonris includes totals for same zone wells in a unit (if I understand them correctly). At this early stage many of the La. production sums I produced may still be from 1 shale well, but some of the numbers apparently did represent production from more than one well in the same unit.

You can search wells by LUW Code on SONRIS and it will pull up all the wells producing in a unit.

There is now a well almost complete in the south east corner of section 28, township 16, range 13. Lease owned by JW. I have not written down any info on the sign. Jusy found out about it. Neighbor told me they were already at 11000 ft. thats all I know. This is our first well. Cant wait to see what the production will be. Been chooping at the bit for a year and half now. LOL

FOG, your neighbor would be referring to four separate wells. These four wells may or may not be drilled with the same drilling rig.

The well in Section 28 may be down to total depth by now.
