Is anyone doing any corporate leasing of housing for itinerant employees of the Shale companies? All the RV parks seem to be full and I'm wondering where others are living if they are just temporarily in the area, or moving here. I believe the big drilling sites have some housing for their own crews. Any advise for someone wanting to lease a home this way ?

We have a newly renovated and available office building located on Main Street in Logansport-it is for sale or lease. It can be used for offices and residence. Raised ceilings, new carpet, bath and 1/2, small kitchen area, with area for stove-refrig and microwave, new central air and heat. We have not put up a sign yet. It also has offstreet parking. If you have an interest please email me your contact information.

I will be opening a place for RV parking the first part of April on Hwy 175, just south of Pelican La (4 miles). It would be about a mile north of the Sabine Parish line.
There are some RV hookups right in Converse by the store. The owner of the store has them. 567-2424
We may have an executive home coming up for lease in north Desoto in the $3300 a mo. range. It is on acreage

We have a nice home in south Shreveport with 1550 sq.ft., huge den w/ fireplace available for $1100 mo

I have a very nice 1 br gated cottage fully furnished with private laundry room on Cross Lake, after Nov 1. Just bring clothes, and food. $2000 range. Fishing, Sun deck, Piers, Boat storage. Beautiful Lake views and Georgous Sun sets.
Lots of building going on in Mansfield. A hotel will be available soon in down town Mansfield, and from what I hear, two apartment type facilities are going up in east Mansfield.
I wonder why more of the gas people are not buying homes instead of renting. Desoto Parish values will continue to go up. Great area, great schools.
All of the full time pipeliners are vagabonds. They move constantly and tend to live in RVs. A drilling rig is often shifted from one play to the next and then to another in a never ending cycle. In many instances they have relatively little advance notice of where they will drill next. The employees of the operators are more likely long term residents than those that work for the contractors. However they represent a relatively small percentage of the total industry personnel involved in the Play. Landmen tend to occupy residential housing and hotels but their numbers decrease significantly as leasing slows and even further after the initial well is drilled in each unit and the divison orders are completed.
Skip, even the employees of the operators (most making VERY good money) are living in RVs. Some that I have met bought homes in Barnett Shale area and fell in love with that area and don't want to move to Louisiana. What people need to realize is that Desoto Parish has great schools and is a big growth area. I am a newcomer to Desoto (been there 6 yrs.), but I am so impressed with how they have handled their Haynesville bonuses. They have dumped a lot of that money into their school systems, and that should be a priority.
KCM, I agree. DeSoto Parish is a great place to live and raise a family. However the number of industry employees looking to locate here permanently is only a small fraction of the whole. Most will work here a few months or a few years and move on. They learn quickly in this business that it is impossible to move households and families every time a job transfer occurs.

I have a lake cottage that is beautiful, on Cross Lake in Shreveport. 1500.00 per month or shorter terms available.
