Just noticed that EOG received a permit on 25 March 2009 for a well on S35-T12N-R13W, located on Billingsley property (Billingsley35 #1). They have already begun intensive site prep, and I believe they are moving the rig "Nabors F38" on to the site as soon as it finishes its current location. My understanding is that they will be drilling the James Formation in the Trenton Field.

JB, the referenced well was permitted as a horizontal Haynesville Shale well.

Les, do you know when they started breakin ground. On Wwdnesday they still had loggers working and the road to the site was only a logging road. Yesterday the loggers were gone and the road was nicely graded.
EOG's contractor fired up the chainsaws the last week of March, the day after we got a surface agreement signed. I live out of town, so it's nice to get an eyewitness report on site-prep progress. They are also prepping a site for the Lafitte 34, behind the Lafitte home on the Oxford Road. The wells will be drilled roughly simultaneously. I have not yet received a plat for the pipeline, but i understand it is a dual line to be placed along the east line of 27 and 34 (running N/S adjacent to the CLECO water line ROW), connecting the Bedsole 27, Lafitte 34, Billingsley 35, Martin Timber 2, and others.
You have a pad! Will post updated photos later today! Do you remember the date of the surface agreement signing? Would be very appreciative -- could conceivably be of importance.
The surface agreement was signed March 20. Why would the date be important?
EOG has spudded the S35-T12N-R13W (Billingsley35, #1, SN: 239599). The rig Nabors F38 moved on to the site and began drilling. Not sure when it occurred, but sometime after 16 April and before 21 April. You also have a pad prepared on S34-T12N-R13W. The Nabors M08 rig will be (or has been already) moving there. They are well ahead of your timeline of 29 April spud date.

Would like to talk to you if possible.

email cbillingsley@mcshouston.com and thanks for the rig pictures.
EOG told me it would be a Haynesville well. They said the rig arrives april 19. Spud date is April 27.
Visited the S35 site Sunday morning. Talked with a member of the Nabors F38 drilling crew who was looking at the new site where that rig will be moving. He said that F38 had finished drilling current site (D N Bell, #239026, in S3-T11N-R13W), and reported that they had made a very good well. Supposedly EOG had scheduled that rig to move to Arcadia(?), but had had such great success with the last couple of wells drilled in this area, that they decided to keep drilling here. The pad area looks complete now, and only needs 'rocking'. (See photos)

Thanks for the photos! Looks like a lot of flat dirt. A lot of felled pine trees, too. Around 6000 according to my forester. The spot they picked happened to be a 19 year old plantation that had never been thinned. That's one heck of a clear cut (6.86 acres total). So, i got a timber sale out of the deal. Send more pictures when the rig arrives.
Well, these photos were taken about 4:30 today, 4/14/09. One shows that the pad has now been rocked, and already has a small community established. Talk about boom towns!! Another shows where (I surmise) they are preparing the road to, and starting pad prep for, the well on S34.

Thanks for the info. I'll be leaving the area tomorrow, and will be gone for a while. If you wish to contact me call at 903-261-7904.
