The most recent unit applications that stand out for me are by Chesapeake in the Benson Field where they added five in township 10N - 13W bringing their total to 16 of the total 24 and 2 in 10N - 12W bringing their total to 4 of the 16. These are the most southerly of Chesapeake's HA drilling units. XTO and Comstock also have recent unit apps in the Benson Field.

Thanks Skip anything new on the eastern front? Not being able to compare your previous map hasd there been any new townships added?

Catfish. I think the previous map grid may have covered the last far east units. Other than the competing unit apps by XTO and Petrohawk for Section 6 - 16N - 9W, the only additional unit apps (they are scheduled for hearing Tuesday) are Encana's app for three units in the Redoak Lake Field. Section 26 - 12N -10W, Section 11 - 11N - 10W and Section 29 - 11N - 9W. I expect more apps in the 9W Ranges before much appears for the 8W Ranges. At these nat gas prices any "step out" activity is welcome.

Skip, I know for a fact acadiana is working across southern Webster including 8w for the hawk. No details on offers but 17n 8,9,and10 are being worked by section.

Skip, my property is in Township 10 North, Range 12 West, Section 14, Desoto Parish. Is this section included in the unit applications? Thanks.

mar sch. In 10N - 12W, SWEPI has HA units in sections 4,5,7,8,10-13,24,25,35 & 36. Chesapeake, sections 18,19,27,34. No unit order for section 14 at this time.

Based upon your latest map above, it would appear that 15N-11W is the first (and only) township to have been fully unitized (36 - 640 ac.± units), which occurred almost two months ago (and still the "Forbing donut hole" in T17N-T14W with zilch). Is this still correct?

What are your theories (if any) behind why other townships near the drilling core have not been fully unitized?

Dion. I think the donut hole remains until gas prices increase to the point that operators are willing to accept the increased cost of developing in densely populated areas. 16N - 14 - 12W are also suburban to a significant degree in their northern halves. It does appear that some competition may be stirring between CHK and HK in SE Shreveport along the river. South from the south halves of the 16N townships there is a good bit of existing, non-haynesville production. Smaller operators will wait until the market improves for their deep rights. I expect unit applications are beginning to slow in some core areas for that reason.

There was a discussion a month or more ago about development in the Marthaville area but it has not been mentioned again. For specific information you should post your section-township-range.

Skip, is an above number assigned when the well has it's permit, being drilled, or finished drilling?
