Recent posts by a new GHS member tend to confirm that 1334 Haynesville Minerals is speculating in leases. As we have discussed previously, in fact many times by now, flippers look to lease for a below market royalty fraction and then profit by assigning their leases to an operating company that will develop the leases. Flipping leases is not illegal, and IMO if done with full disclosure, not strictly unethical. All un-leased GHS members should be aware of the fact that they are giving up a portion of their long term potential royalty income if they choose to lease to a company speculating in leases. I do not discount the fact that there may be those who are in financial difficulties that would be helped by the up-front cash lease bonus however those land owners who are not in immediate financial need should think twice about leasing to a company that does not drill wells. As the perceived economic area of the LA Haynesville Shale has expanded, there are now opportunities for lease speculators to ply their trade.
There are LA SOS LLC registrations for both 1334 Haynesville Minerals and 1334 Haynesville Leasing And Minerals. Both are listed as Active, Not In Good Standing for failure to file Annual Report. Both LLCs list the same Mailing and Domicile address:

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
