Parker: would you be interested in a nomination to be the GOP candidate for President of these United States? couldn't have said it better!!

Unfortunately, you and I are in the minority. Over half the people in this country pay nothing but expect everything. Hence why we get glad handing politicians elected on the promise of redistribution of wealth!

Government: protect the country, state, city, enforce the stinkin' borders, build the roads/rails/highways, and get out of the way for everything else. Everything else they do they screw up! Education? Check. Social Security? Check. Post Office? Check. Healthcare? Soon to be Check.

I couldn't agree more.

I told my son if Hillary was elected that we would move to Canada. All I can say now is Hillary please come back.

I hate to leave good company, but I have 4 1/2 acres of grass that I need to cut.

Unless the government would gratiously agree to do it for me and then raise my taxes 100 times more than what I would have to pay someone to do it.

I am just thankful that I am allowed to own property. Thank God this is still America.

WHY I HAVE DECIDED TO VOTE DEMOCRAT





I'm voting Democrat because I believe the government will do a better job of spending the money I earn than I would.
I'm voting Democrat because freedom of speech is fine as long as nobody is offended by it.
I'm voting Democrat because when we pull out of Iraq I trust that the bad guys will stop what they're doing because they now think we're good people.
I'm voting Democrat because I believe that people who can't tell us if it will rain on Friday CAN tell us that the polar ice caps will melt away in ten years if I don't start driving a Prius.
I'm voting Democrat because I'm not concerned about the slaughter of millions of babies so long as we keep all death row inmates alive.
I'm voting Democrat because I believe that business should not be allowed to make profits for themselves. They need to break even and give the rest away to the government for redistribution as THEY see fit.
I'm voting Democrat because I believe three or four elitist liberals need to rewrite the Constitution every few days to suit some fringe kooks who would NEVER get their agendas past the voters.
I'm voting Democrat because I believe that when the terrorists don't have to hide from us over there, they?ll come over here, and I don't want to have any guns in the house to shoot them with..
I'm voting Democrat because I love the fact that I can now marry whatever I want. I've decided to marry my horse this time.
I'm voting Democrat because I believe oil companies' profits of 4% on a gallon of gas are obscene but the government taxing the same gallon of gas at 15% isn't.
Makes ya wonder why anyone would EVER vote Republican, now doesn't it?
Poor people have been voting for the Democrats for 50 years. They are still poor.

I have worked hard all my life(at a job that barely met the monthly bills) to pay for the 150 acres, minerals and all, I own free and clear. When I bought 10 of the acres the land owners kept the minerals. They have since reverted back to the land because there has been no production. The point I want to make is, I bought the land without the minerals because I wanted the land. I was lucky to get the minerals. Most people buy land, be it a lot or several acres, for a home place. They are not concerned with the minerals! They want a place to call their own!!! They would not be concerned with the minerals now if the bonus was for $100 or $200 as it has been in the past.It is only because they want the big bonus!!!!

I agree whole-heartedly. I don't own the minerals on the 4 1/2 acres that I live on. I am not going to sue anyone for not telling me that I wasn't going to get them when I purchased my home. Nor do I expect the governement to get them for me.

And as to the part about the rich getting richer, etc., I drive a vehicle with over 250,000 miles on it. The air works when it feel like it and it is battered and bruised. I could go out and buy a new one to "impress" people, but instead I invest my money.

There is no shame in trying to better oneself. I have worked toward becoming wealthy one day. When I do become wealthy, I will be proud that most of it came from hard work. If HS helps with that I will be thankful.

God blesses each and everyone of us. But what we do with those blessings determines whether or not we bless him back. I love the bumper sticker that says "America, bless God."

I certainly agree with you, old as dirt, my husband & I purchased about 30 acres in elm grove about 12 years ago for a homesite, NEVER, even worried about the mineral rights. However, by the Lord's blessings the minerals reverted to us just 18 months ago and we did sign with Petrohawk just recently. But never did we envision this bonus money, we only wanted a lovely place in the country and we were double blessed. We have both worked hard all our lives, no one gave us anything. Still working and plan on still working to plan for our future and kids & grandkids.

If a standard buy sell agreement is used through a Realtor the seller fills out a disclosure form and one line is "mineral rights" With the the possible answers yes no or don't know. When we bought our 22 acres last year the seller checked don't know on mineral rights. We went to the courthouse and researched it ourselves. We would have still bought the land for the land the minerals were a nice bonus.

If the people that are suing Brown are honest with themselves they would probably say the same thing that you are saying.

I know it is true for me. If my home had minerals that would be "lagniappe".

Hey Parker,

I read one of the suits involving this and it was not what I expected. I think that the plaintiffs allege that they purchased a lot and also specifically their mineral rights (and they claim to have that in writing), 2 years later built their home, after their home was built, Mrs. X called the plaintiffs one day and said that there was something they needed to sign, that it would fix a typo on their original deed and paperwork and that she needed to bring the correction paperwork over right away, Mrs. X promised that she would provide a copy to the plaintiffs, plaintiffs believed her and signed, no copy was provided. The plaintiffs allege that later, they found out that they signed an act of correction stating that the mineral rights were to be retained by Mrs. X, her husband and the property company, Mrs. X also was the notary on the act of correction. There were a couple of other items mentioned concerning whether the act of correction was valid based on the notary and witnesses.
