Yea, My Dad lives in Bethel Alaska. The cost of living there is through the roof. He says those checks help many in the villages survive.

I am glad to hear that they will be getting a stimulus check. I have a few friends up there, and the money will be a blessing to some. Much like the stimulus check we received earlier; it does not solve the economic woes, but it does help alleviate some of the burden.

I can't think of many places right now that don't have economic woes. Can you imagine, if Louisianians got that kind of "dividend", "stimulus", "rebate" ... whatever you call it ... that about now there are a lot of people in storm affected areas who could use it?

I believe the article says these funds have been paid since 1982, how did we miss that boat?
