I am thinking about having someone or a company represent me in negotiation. I was curious if anyone else had done this, and if they were as good as advertised. If so, which companies or individuals are the best?

Well, I was thinking more of someone to negotiate bonus and royalties. I would assume a company that does this would know what the market price is better than I. Would they know what clauses to include in the lease agreement or would I need an attorney for that?
What kind of fees will the attorney take? Commission based, flat, hourly etc?
Does this speed up the process? Also, do you feel you got lesser a price had you waited or does having the attorney negotiate get you to the company's max $$$ they will pay?
I might be mistaken, but I wasn't aware that an attorney would negotiate for you. I am thinking they will just help with the lease, and a bank or consultant would actually negotiate for you.
I believe there are attorney who's expertise is negotiating, but a consultant is certainly an option. You need to be sure the contract is legit though, this would be the attorney's role. It sems if you can find an attorney who does both, it will save you time and $$$. So, let me if you find a good negotiator.
Be careful,My neighbor had a lawyer contact him about representation
and told him he would charge a percentage---and a percentage of any
royalties recieved--the gift that keeps on giving!!
not all attorney's are charging percentages, just the ones you do not want to do business with. mark bryant in shreveport,la. is very knowledgable in oil and gas. i would contact him
I feel that y'all have answered my question, as to, what type of individual can help me. Thanks to all, but I was wondering what companies and/ or firms would be best for this. I want to contact them because, as said by geoman, the best do not come looking for you.
my husband and I were contacted by ashley ann energy (chesapeake?) and they left me the lease, i have researched the web considerably and we have made our own provisions just from reading valuable resources. I have heard that John Frazier, Shreveport, or A. Roos, both attorneys are good o & g attorneys. But go to the courthouse and pull deed from a larger landowner such as edgar cason, martin timber and see what their provisions are. some forestry companies are helping their clients also.
why join a group that charges both a fee and percentages.
Denny Reedy was suggested by a good friend as trustworthy and fair. You can contact him 318-671-7100.
He was one of the Fortress Management guys wasn't he?
