Thanks, that list of defendants looks like a list of Who's Who in US mortgage lending. I've tried researching Deutsche Bank before, not easy.

I knew NY & CA were in deeeeeppp trouble, but didn't know about Ohio until this summer. It looked to me like the entire state might have to be closed due to lack of residents, there were so many foreclosures.

This 60 Mins. article sort of demonstrates that the mortgage companies may have had a clue about the potential mess they were creating because they took out insurance, pennies on the dollar, to ensure they could recoup their investments.
Yep, somebody get that squirrel in the tree on the 9th hole as a material witness. I think they knew what they had done shortly after the ink was dry on the legislation to deregulate.
