No, I was not at the meeting. I am wondering why there are two groups? Wouldn't it be better to have one big group sharing information together, pooling acreage?
I agree that the more information shared the better off landowners will be.
As I understand it this meeting was just to get people together and share some information regarding what O&G companies were doing and discuss leases and how people could protect themselves by being careful and examining the lease terms. Some good info was presented from what I am told. I don't think the organizers ever represented that they would provide definative answers to everyone's questions.

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
