Has anyone ever heard of a well hitting "poisoned gas?" What is it and what to do you do with it?

That well was ignited on purpose after the blowout to expend the H2S. The cows and chickens were killed after the blowout before the H2S was discovered and ignited. A sulphur producing plant is on that well now. By the way, the legendary Red Adair was called in to extinguish the well after it was ignited.
That's the one. Late sixties or early seventies, I think. Ended up drilling offset well to bring the pressure down.
