I am in an area T16N-R13W section 7 and I was looking on the Sonris map today to see I am shaded in green for active leases. What exactly does that mean? I haven't signed a lease yet.

I've been wondering about those "active leases."

It looks to me like the state leased mineral rights to all the state owned mineral rights in the shaded area. Since SONRIS only shows 10 acres, I'm assuming it only affects a small part of the shaded area. i.e. the state doesn't claim all the minerals in the shaded area, it's simply leasing all the state-owned minerals in that area.

How about it experts? What do the "active leases" on SONRIS mean?
Been there, done that. That's where I came up with the 10 acre figure. I'm still not quite sure what it means.

It's a bit confusing that it shows several square miles on the map, but only 10 acres in the details.
You would have to look at the lease for a full description.

SONRIS usually just picks up the s-t-r on state leases, not the actual tract dimensions.
I also have an interest in this STR. We were offered 5000/acre & 25% a couple of weeks ago by R&O Energy, agent for Petrohawk. Anybody else have any any info about offers, activity, plans, etc for this area?

Thanks,
GWTF
Do you have phone number for R&O? I have never been contacted by anyone.
William,

Here is the info. They are in Shreveport.
I was contacted by one of the landmen, David Hooper.
