New-fangled electric and natural-gas powered vehicles will be on show on Thursday at the Palmer Events Center at the Central Texas Clean Cities AltCar Expo.

While the event primarily serves as a menu of options for managers of vehicle fleets, consumers can also take vehicles for a mini test-drive for free. Some vehicles will be for sale.

The event, sponsored chiefly by the City of Austin’s Clean Cities program and by Texas Gas Service, is open to the public from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday. Earlier in the day the conference has sessions on the challenges facing vehicle fleet managers
