He says under pressure from a Petrohawk executive. Berman, always one to draw ire from our local GoHaynseville experts has been very bearish on shale gas decline rates, especially those in our very own and beloved play. Where he gets his information to compare to producers we have yet to see. He was called out by several of our local experts through email exchange.

It is safe to say that the major players are well past the stock selling stage when it comes to the Haynesville Shale. One of his decline projections was destroyed, being that the well made more gas in a little over a few months than it would have in a lifetime based on Mr. Berman's estimate..

When it comes to the viability and total recovery of Haynesville wells I will bank with those who have invested billions and bet their entire corporate future's right here in the Haynesville play. While no one would want any voice of dissent silenced, Berman, instead of re-evalutaing his earlier statements on shale gas declines he has decided to circle the wagons and follow up bad information with indignance.

I agree completely Geo, it was you who exchanged e-mails with him if my memory serves correct?
I definitely have to give you props on that Jay.
Yes, Jay has always been the voice of expert reason on this site since it's inception, at one time he was the shale guru for everyone.

Not to say that he isn't the pre-eminent geologist on the site now. Jay is an asset we are proud to have.
I second that. I've been here from the beginning and you couldn't be more right.
We should all be very proud to have such great contributors.
This site is an indespensible tool to all mineral owners, we have ShaleGeo, LesB, Skip Peel, Dion Warr, and a myriad of other experts in all fields of the E&P industry.
What is his cause, he must have one?
CMK, be controversial and attract business.
You are a geologist?....I'm not sure what kind... I'm a geologist also...with 35 years experience...and I have never said...not a single time "I'm just a geologist...I'll leave it to the experts like Tudor Pickering and Schlumberger"
What ShaleGeo is Saying is that he is a geologist and not a reservoir engineeer, I think that is easy to establish, maybe you can enlighten us on the characteristics of the haynesville shale reservoir.
intresting commentary jay , on the old time geos, that is. i was enquiring just yesterday who was holding my shallow rights and it turned into a 45 minute conversation with a field engineer and the complaint was just about the same, except they still own 50% working intrest in all depths in my lease.i guess that should afford him some office time for a long time. lol

i have read ALL of the berman bashings on here and i think you guys have done a great job of silencing his propaganda. it's amazing how someone like that can gain so much influence.
kj
Didn't Berman use some verticals in his data set? Which would be unforgiveably deceptive if true.
Jay,
Can you give me the name of the Spring Ridge discovery well? Is it in 15N, 15W? If so, what section?
Thanks!
