A California-based energy company clenched a 10-year deal with the city of Austin to design, build, and maintain a natural gas fueling station adjacent to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.
Clean Energy Fuels Corp. (Nasdaq: CLNE) announced the agreement this morning, though it earlier reported intentions to construct the $1 million project.
Officials in previous interviews with the Austin Business Journal said the plan was instigated to support growing natural gas-powered fleets of airport parking shuttles and courtesy vehicles. The company, who’s board includes industry tycoon T. Boone Pickens, operates more than 20 airport-based pumps nationwide including in Dallas and Houston.
