What can you say? All of us on GHS scratch our heads in mind boggling amazement at the resistance to natural gas. There is no explaining it.

It is truly amazing to me to see the resistance(?) to conversion to natural gas vehicles. In Phoenix we have many vehicles of all sizes and shapes on our streets as a result of T. Boones advice about 10 or 15 years ago. Sure helps to cut down on emissions. Most of Phoenix's vehicles are on CNG.

TBP is someone I admire greatly. Maybe because of the great similarity in background growing up and fact that he is also a geologist as am I. BIG difference in $$$$.  I  have a really good book about his life. Good reading. Think I will read again.

What's the book?

David, the book is " THE FIRST BILLION IS THE HARDEST" by T. Boone Pickens.  Published 9/08 by Crown Publishing Co.  ENJOY

Aubrey:

Boone Pickens assets are are 90% Natural Gas.  Obviously there is a reason for his favoritism.  His is not all humanitarian in nature.

LP:  There is a reason!  The "Green Freaks", Obama, Gore etc., etc., etc., are pushing Solar, Wind, un-affordable electric autos etc., because there is an economic agenda behind it.  Gore didn't advance from a net worth of $7 Million to over $100,000,000.00 in the space of 24 months by using fossil fuels as a standard for US transportation and industry!  He used typical Democratic Party scare tactics to further his net worth.

Joe, I agree with all you wrote. No matter what the motive I believe natural gas is the "way to go" now. This I believe. even though my production is mainly oil and condensate. Fortunately my gas is not dry gas and we strip liquids from it.

I reccomend that all members read the Pickens book I referenced. Boone was just ahead of his time on the natural gas thing, in my opinion. Kind of like the Studebaker!!

Re: Green Freaks

I know. The frustrating thing is that most of the green obcessors are ignorant of their issue. Basically all they know is that they want to force something to be stopped. It’s a power thing with some people. It doesn’t matter what they target, they just want to force an affect.

This example frequently comes to mind:

The anti-frackers argue that tiny amount of chemicals in the frack fluid “might” contaminate the aquifer. They cry and wail that it would cause total disaster if there was a crack in the concrete and in the steel casing at the time that the fracking fluid was pumped into the well.

Okay…taking that silly “what if” argument and apply it to millions of miles of sewer pipes that are made of plastic. The “stuff” including an enormous amount of chemicals flow through those pipes 24-7, year after year. Where is their outrage toward sewer pipes and its potential to aquifer contamination? If their concern is genuine, seems like they would be all over the threat of sewer pipes potential to cause Armageddon.

And yes, Gore has his self-serving agenda. There is no way to convince the average citizen that our domestic energy BLESSING is truly a blessing for every living American. They don’t understand, they don’t want information that would bring them to understand and that is our barrier to shared prosperity.

Lets not forget the farmers of the US.  They annually put Carcinogenic materials (pesticides and herbicides) into our lakes, streams, rivers and fresh water aquifers and eventually the Gulf of Mexico.  In the Gulf has a huge dead zone where there is no oxygen for marine life to survive.  They do this under the guise of "Feeding the US Households".  The US Government condones this.

None of these "Anti-Frackers and the like have parked their autos either.  Hypocritical Bastards and you can count our Congressmen/Women in this number.  They are all selfserving whores trying to stay in office by condoning anything for a vote.

Good points Joe. Working as an engineering geologist for USDA_Soil Conservation Service I was responsible for providing assistance to farmers in developing procedures for building animal waste lagoons and other groundwater protection measures. Most of city slicker environmentalists would puke if they could se the stuff that ran into our swamps and streams. Sadly, this is ongoing today but I take pride in having done what I could.
