David replied to Skip Peel - Mineral Consultant's discussion Louisiana's energy future is in natural gas
"Skip, I agree oil will play a lesser role in the future with gas increasingly more important, if for no other reason than as a backup for renewable energy and as a bridge fuel to a potential renewable energy dominance in the coming decades. The…"

Interesting article from Seeking Alpha

<snip>SummaryDespite August contracts retesting the lows near $1.70/MMBtu, natural gas producers continue to outperform prompt month contracts.Today's price action along the curve gives you a great illustration of why that's the case. Front months are underperforming while the 2021 curve is moving higher. That's because price weakness near term is explainable, while the driving force for higher prices in 2021 and beyond comes from a structural issue - lower production.Rystad estimates that…See More

COVID-19 Information

I know this site is not a medical based site, but I think a lot can be gleaned from sharing information about COVID-19. My day job, being in the home care field, has me zoned in on this. It's knocking on our door. So, I want to hear from you on how you are coping getting through this challenging time. This is unchartered territory for most of us plucking away on a computer. So, share insights or on-the-ground happenings. Whatever you find interesting or helpful.See More

David replied to Skip Peel - Mineral Consultant's discussion Are We Ready To Debate This or Here Skip Goes Again
"Skip, what many fail to see is that, until we truly have reliable alternatives, NG should be used as a bridge to totally renewable energy. We should be using nuclear, as do many European countries. Our phobia on nuclear is based on reactors built…"

Christmas - Viewed from the other side

Almost five years ago now, I was a frequent poster on a forum about the movie, The Passion of the Christ. I decided to try and emulate C. S. Lewis' magnificent Screwtape Letters. (I am sure I shall probably have to apologize to him profusely when we do meet someday.) Below is what I posted then.
