On July 6, BPX permitted two new super wells which will pull from four sections.
Man, that's a lot of pullin', let me tell ya.

Pop the champagne. (Hey, I don't drink. Some of us Cherokees ain't stupid.)
Heres the ask. I just checked the SONRIS map app and didn't find the pad and how this drill will proceed. From the data, it looks as though the pad will be in section 23, where my family owns some land . . . and primarily go south from 23 into 26 and 35 . . . and maybe do a horseshoe north into section 14.
Is this an accurate assessment, or do I need new reading glasses?
Thanks for the feedback.
The exact well pad location will not be available until the permit and well plat are entered in the database.
Thanks, Skip. Used to be, it seemed as though the mapping, etc. was also posted when a new permit was initially posted online. Plus, it seemed as though DNR always did updates on Thursdays and Sundays.
Note: The new permit was first posted this Monday, and I was a bit surprised to discover it on Tuesday. Had checked last Thursday and Sunday . . . but thought I didn't need to check back again until Thursday.
A darn good surprise, let me tell ya.
So, like, you know way, way more than any of us. For my two cents, things do, indeed, seem to be changing/evolving on SONRIS . . . somewhat like a tadpole turning into a frog.
But no worries. The important stuff is still accessible. Good wampum.
4 section laterals are done where surface and leases dictate such. Due to the amount of perforated feet yes they will have excellent initial flow rates. But keep in mind that 4 sections share in this production. The actual sweet spot for EUR’s is the two section lateral.
Thanks, Dale. Aren't you in Natchitoches Parish? I know a little about the history of that exploration since I've watched it for many, many years. My family has owned land in Natch going back over a hundred years. Are you in pay, yet? Have you ever owned producing O&G wells before?
