As I read this, these will be in the Cotton-Valley formation and not Haynesville Shale. I think some of these type wells have been successfull in East Texas. Is that correct Skip?

Yes, E TX has some good horizontal CV wells.  The Terryville Complex in Lincoln Parish was a good CV field for horizontal completions until Range Resources screwed it up.  And in the early Haynesville shale days, Indigo drilled a number of good CV hz wells in north DeSoto Parish.  The CV formation is a typical conventional reservoir unlike the shale.  For that reason it is not continuously productive over large areas.  It is more a "sweet spot" play.  The vast majority of CV wells, and there are a ton in our area, are vertical wells but wherever the CV is too tight (low permeability), horizontal wells work better.  Obviously Brookston thinks that those sections in 18N-16W are a good target for horizontal completions.  It will be interesting to see the wells they make.
