Is there a way to find out how many acres a company has in their unit?
Can a company only choose to include say 160 acres in a unit instead of the 640?
If there are 3 wells in a section, will a mineral owner receive royalties or revenues from all three wells regardless of how the units are broken up/grouped?

A unit may be of any size that the State authority will approve. If there are 3 wells in a section and if there is a unit comprising that particular unit all wells share equally in regard to royalties and revenues if all the wells are producing from the same formation.
Ken, you will only receive royalties on wells producing from your unit not necessarily your section. So you would not be paid royalty on wells producing from a 160 acre unit that does not include your acreage.
Sonris includes a plat of all units formed so you can get a rough idea of the unit size and location.
When I go to the Sonris website, which link do I click on to see a plat of all the units?
Ken, you have to look for:
"Document Access" then
"Regulatory" then
"Field Orders"
