Does anybody want to divide up the site between Shale and everything else?

I would like to know if anyone else besides me is interested in a split home page with Shale threads on top, then all of the other banter below in a separate thread section. This separate thread section could still be active where the hot threads go to the top, but they would not compete with the Shale threads. Thoughts anyone? The current tone of the site seems to be non Shale.

As you said, the topics are categorized. Read the topics that appeal to you and by-pass the ones that don't. Easy fix. Now what we really need to work on is the language that is being used in some of the hotter threads. Maybe we need an X-rated blog for those that engage in speech like that!
Mrs. C - Your last 2 sentences help me understand the problem of this topic. I was unaware as I have not posted or read much here today. Thanks for the heads up. Do I dare go look? lol

Best always - sesport :0)
I wasn't pointing my finger at any one thread. I was just stating that many on GHS.com find some of the language offensive. I am no prude by any means, and I thoroughly enjoy the jokes and fun that we are allowed to have on this site. We have time to read what we are typing before pressing that add reply button.
Mrs. C - Thanks again, I wasn't aware and in no way thought that any fingers were being pointed by or toward any person or particular topic. And again you've helped me understand better.. I fully support pause ( at least more than 2 seconds) before pressing.

Here's the problem nobody has been commenting on shale topics. KB, writes a blog for Local Land Use Regulations and Zoning and the Mineral Exploration Industry she takes the time to write and put her thoughts into this blog and she get's one comment. After a while people give up writing this stuff if you don't comment on it. Now that should be right up the shalers alley if you don't comment on it who will. For me, I don't mind saying that's over my head, but you guys and girls who went to school for this stuff or work in this industry should comment on it. In short, if it's not popular, it because you not making it popular.
You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear!
KB is brilliant, no doubt about it. I tried to follow it but I didn't get too far. I confess that I went on to another topic.
Maw,
This is true.
ShaleGeo - I thought I would vote one way based on the information you posted and the numbers I posted. I now have more information ... I can make a choice from a better informed position. Discussion helped me make up my mind, voting on impulse based on a single piece of information or a single person's opinion isn't my style.

When a proposition is made, the voters are given time to research, reflect and discuss it. Maybe a day or two should be given for this vote, too. IMHO, the public sure wouldn't tolerate having a proposition posted in the newspaper in the morning and be told to run to the polls immediately to vote.

Jay,
I must apologize as I was very flip in my reply to your question.
I still vote to leave things as they are and let us decide what we want to read or not read. I am grateful for all that you do for us. Your incite and knowledge is invaluable to all of us.
cathaus, I am not very proficient on the pc and have a pretty hard time finding topics I'm really interested in. I feel pretty sure that most of us have already had lots of time to ponder this. Also, is invaluable the same as valuable?
far too many topics unrelated to haynesville shale.I'm all in for your suggestion.
Maw,
No doubt about it she is like a sponge and soaks it all up, but I do want to say, I read a lot of O&G post and have learned a great deal from them, and I appreciate all the hard work that goes into them. If you want to split the post up that's fine, but it's not going to make them anymore popular because there on top. You as a person have to make it popular, placing them in a certain spot won't.
