Gary, I do not know of any reason that Chesapeake would not drill the Haynesville Shale well permitted for Section 18. See well information below.
Chesapeake, Evans 18 #H1 Well, Serial #242811, S18-T9N-R12W
Gary,
All of the land in Section 18 is in a single production unit. The surface location of the well will be on Mr. Evans' land. But the lateral will run the full length of the section, in a north-to-south direction. All mineral owners in this section will receive royalties. Your percentage will be proportional to the fraction of the section you own. If you own 40 acres, your fraction of the gas will be equal to (40/640) X your royalty percentage.
Gary, attached is a copy of the well permit. It appears you have about 20 acres so this would have a tract participation factor of ~ 3% in the Haynesville Unit. As Henry said you will share in the production.
Have you leased your acreage? If yes, your royalty will be roughly your royalty rate times the 3% times the gas production. If you have not leased then you would receive 3% of the production after Chesapeake recovers the cost of drilling the well and operating expenses.
RC, attached is a copy of the information you requested.
You can obtain a copy by the following steps:
- Go to Sonris site
- Select "Document Access"
- On next page select "Permitting"
- In box that opens select "Well Permit To Drill/Amend"
- In section that opens to the right fill in the "Well Serial Number" - 242999
