Gary, I do not know of any reason that Chesapeake would not drill the Haynesville Shale well permitted for Section 18.  See well information below.

Chesapeake, Evans 18 #H1 Well, Serial #242811, S18-T9N-R12W

I'm new at this and my next question is I'm section 18 but they are not drilling on my land. They have us as a group as my understanding and if they hit oil on Mr Evans property do we get any royalty? Because I have been getting letter to buy my mineral right. I feel stupid asking all these question.

Gary,

All of the land in Section 18 is in a single production unit.  The surface location of the well will be on Mr. Evans' land.  But the lateral will run the full length of the section, in a north-to-south direction.  All mineral owners in this section will receive royalties.  Your percentage will be proportional to the fraction of the section you own.  If you own 40 acres, your fraction of the gas will be equal to (40/640) X your royalty percentage.

Gary, attached is a copy of the well permit.  It appears you have about 20 acres so this would have a tract participation factor of ~ 3% in the Haynesville Unit.  As Henry said you will share in the production.

Have you leased your acreage?  If yes, your royalty will be roughly your royalty rate times the 3% times the gas production.  If you have not leased then you would receive 3% of the production after Chesapeake recovers the cost of drilling the well and operating expenses.

Is there any way that I can find out if they
are going to drill in my section? They have
let one permit expires and it look like they
 have gotten another one?
I found that they moved a drilling rig to a
section below my section.

My section is. Section18 T9North Range12

Thanks Gary
Gary, as I said above there is a permitted well in your section.  You will find out if Chesapeake intends to drill when a rig is on the location.  It could be the rig that spud the well in Section 19 on April 9th will move to your section when finished with that well.
Hi Les
Can you help me get a copy of this type application /map for S2 T11N 12W? Can you also direct me to the source. It is great! Happy Easter. RC

RC, attached is a copy of the information you requested.

You can obtain a copy by the following steps:

- Go to Sonris site

- Select "Document Access"

- On next page select "Permitting"

- In box that opens select "Well Permit To Drill/Amend"

- In section that opens to the right fill in the "Well Serial Number" - 242999
