Interesting - re a glen rose completion in Leon County and a proposed woodbine well...

Nice EXCO wells...

Gastar has been working on horizontals in the Eagle Ford/Woodbine:

During the second quarter of 2011, we continued to monitor the four wells previously drilled to test the productivity of the Glen Rose and Eagle Ford/Woodbine (Eaglebine) formations on our East Texas acreage. Production rates for these wells have been lower than expected, but we believe that the drilling and completion methods that we have used so far have not been optimal. Due to drilling issues with our Wildman 7H horizontal well, we do not believe that we have adequately tested the horizontal drilling potential of the Eaglebine formation. For the balance of 2011, we are postponing further drilling tests on these formations and will instead continue monitoring the four wells, analyzing a core sample taken from the Eaglebine section of a nearby well and observing offset operator drilling activity in the zones.

do anyone no if they are drilling in center tx.  zc walker a-757
Can anyone tell me how to obtain updates on new wells that are producing.  According to the landman for the drilling company, he informed me last April that the drilling was successful and the well on our lease was producing. We cannot seem to get ahold of either the landman or the drilling company to find out an update on royalty payments, etc. We have consulted our lawyer who negotiated the lease and noone will get back to him either.  We have exhausted our resources on contacting this company out of Dallas to give us, the family, an update.  The lease is in Panola County, Tx.  Thank you for your help.

The RRC Production Data Query here: http://webapps2.rrc.state.tx.us/EWA/ewaPdqMain.do can show production for producing wells.  Check yourself, or share the name of the well and someone here can check for you.

One possibility is that division orders haven't been issued yet and the company is holding payments in escrow until title can be figured out.

What are division orders? Sorry, but I am just learning.
Thank you for the info. It is very helpful.

Judy,

This isn't my specific area of expertise, but here goes.  You might get a more complete answer from someone else here, perhaps Ben Elmore.

A division order is the document produced after the oil and gas companies landmen/title company have had sufficient time to research and determine the exact ownership of each mineral owner in a producing unit.  Basically, it describes what percentage of the area is formally attributed to each mineral owner.  Due to considerable time and expense involved in the process, this often isn't done until after a well is producing.

Revenues produced prior to the division order being issued will be held in escrow, and when the company issues the DO and knows how much to pay each royalty owner it will send out checks, for the first few months of production.  If the land in a unit has a lot of heirs and/or boundary issues it can take longer.   In some cases, if the well has been producing for an extended period of time (I think 120 days) there will also be interest paid on monies held longer than that 120 days.    This is a rough discription of what I guess is going on.  You'll probably want to dig deeper and/or get a more informed opnion.

It may be time for a demand letter from your lawyer to the  oil and gas company for monies you are owed.

dbob --  I am Judy's co-trustee on this well.  I went to the suggested web site and searched and did not get anything.  The division orders have been signed and filed.  Here are the specifics on the well that I have off of the division orders:

Hancock #1 Gas Unit, Panola County, H. McKelvey Survey A-429.  Operator is CX Resources, LLC.  We have 158.406 acres.

If you have any suggestions about how to find info on this, we would appreciate it.  It may take the lawyer letter you mentioned above to do the trick.  We hope not.

Thanks,

Mike

Mike-- the East Texas Drilling report that is in the Tyler and Kilgore newspaper each week is data place out "On the table" in the RRC office Kilgore each week for the public to review. If you will check the Texas RRC web site for the wells API # then call the RRC office in Kilgore 903 984 3026--- they will give you update of what's been reported to RRC. Of cource the only thing that is mandatory for operator to report is date wells is spud within 48 hours. Then operator is required to report production within 30-90 days well go to sale in pipeline but this may not happen for months to year or more. the RRC can slap operator hands if not reported but not much power otherwise. If operator becomes chronic about late reports they can be penalized. If you have signed DO and they will not answer your phone call then send Certified return rec. Demand Letter for payment per your lease agreement. If production is > 90 per lease and your demand letter get no reponse then go see attorney. If you live around area of well then go to well site and check the data read the meters of production. Also Cx Resources I do not think drill wells they are flipper or at most Non-Op WI % of well
I have not seen an up-to-date drilling report since the 9-11-11 version. I have checked several east texas papers but can not find any current information.  Has something happened to the source of these reports?
The column has not appeared on tylerpaper.com for two weeks now.  I'm not sure what the problem is but hopefully it will be resolved soon.
