Brian, you've posted the same plat twice. Unless you have another plat, this is 8 alternate unit wells, not 15. The surface locations are in Section 1 but the Bottom Hole Locations are Section 12. I believe that EXCO picked up this leasehold from their acquisition of Winchester. EXCO formed the unit sometime ago but had no need to drill as there was existing production holding the lease. If you look at Petrohawk's EUR Core Map, this is the far northwest corner of the Play and the only unit that EXCO has in the township. If EXCO could complete some economic wells, it may stimulate some interest in the area. What I'd like to see is EXCO actively seeking to acquire additional leases in the area.

Yes, I had made a mistake and posted the same one twice. I have now corrected and added the application for 7 wells in T18 R16 Section 1. I am very aware of the Petrohawk "Do Not Drill" zone as I live along the same line in T18 R15 section 2. I thought the North Caddo group and Blanchard area needed some positive news. Exco must think it is ecomically? I'm not holding my breath, but I am crossing my fingers that these wells are good enough to stimulate interst in the area again.

Thanks for the correction, Brian. Though it may be an unintentional consequence of the Winchester acquisition, it is fortunate for your area to have an operator as HS experienced as EXCO to drill these wells. Just remember that these are alternate unit well applications and not well permits. If the first well or wells are economic, more will likely be drilled as that is the way EXCO develops it's shale units. As opposed to a one well HBP. It's been 20+ months since a horizontal was drilled in the area of the Longwood Field. EXCO may have a better completion design that will make these wells economic. I'm just not sure if it is possible to overcome the shale clay content problem associated with the rock in the Longwood Field by the frac design. I'm sure a lot of folks will have their fingers crossed. Please let us know when EXCO applies for a permit for one of these alternate unit wells.

I agree with you about good news, for an out of state member, almost any news in North Caddo is good news, of course, I also appreciate Skip's clarification.
